'''Jimmy Hernandez''' is a character in the [[Grand Theft Auto]] series appearing in [[Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas]] (set in [[1992]]). He is a member of the [[C.R.A.S.H.|Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums]], alongside [[Frank Tenpenny]] and [[Eddie Pulaski]]. He is voiced by [[Armando Riesco]], who also voiced [[Pierre La Ponce]] in [[Grand Theft Auto: Vice City]] and has appeared in films such as ''Pieces of April''.

Jimmy Hernandez was born in an unknown location in [[Mexico]], and at some point prior to [[1992]], moved to the [[United States of America]], joining the [[Los Santos Police Department]] in [[1989]]. His biggest case, prior to joining C.R.A.S.H., was a domestic violence case where a man was beating up his wife, a drug addict who nearly allowed their child to starve. Hernandez was then transferred to C.R.A.S.H. as an undercover officer to investigate fellow officers [[Frank Tenpenny]], the leader of C.R.A.S.H., and [[Eddie Pulaski]], corrupt officers who had been taking the law into their own hands and encouraging gang violence in Los Santos' poorer neighbourhoods, after they received information from C.R.A.S.H. officer [[Ralph Pendelbury]] about their activities. Hernandez, however, tells Tenpenny and Pulaski that he realised that the only crime in [[Los Santos]] was gang crime and joined C.R.A.S.H.. Hernandez, however, almost loses his chance to work in C.R.A.S.H. when talking to Tenpenny and Pulaski about his past three years of service. Tenpenny then orders him to get out of their [[Police Car|car]] in [[East Los Santos]]. Hernandez, however, is later accepted back and the corrupt Tenpenny and Pulaski quickly initiate him into their criminal activities after Hernandez told them he was prepared to do whatever it took to reduce the crime in the city. The three then drive to meet Pendelbury, who is [[The Introduction|badly beaten by Pulaski before being killed by a reluctant Hernandez]], who was being held at gunpoint by Tenpenny.

Jimmy Hernandez, alongside Tenpenny and Pulaski, are [[First Mission (GTA SA)|first seen arresting]] [[Carl Johnson]] in [[Ganton]] on his return to Los Santos from [[Liberty City in GTA III Era|Liberty City]] for his [[Beverly Johnson|mothers]] funeral.  The three then drive Johnson around the city's poorer neighbourhoods and hand him the gun that Hernandez had used to kill Pendelbury ten minutes previously, thus giving them leverage over Johnson. The three then throw him from their moving police car, leaving him in [[Jefferson]], a part of the city controlled by Johnson's rivals the [[Ballas]]. The three, after throwing Johnson out of their car, return to the scene of Pendelbury's murder. Hernandez continues to work with Tenpenny and Pulaski, and later [[Cell Phone|phones]] Johnson to remind him not to leave the city and that C.R.A.S.H. are watching him.
