There are a variety of myths, legends and rumours revolving around Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Most of these do not actually exist in the game, but there are many Easter Eggs in this and other GTA games. Nevertheless, many GTA gamers and even organised groups of mythhunters spend many hours tracking down the mythical creatures, locations and vehicles.

Angel on Rock
The Angel on Rock, is a proven geographical feature that appears on a rock next to a road in Back O' Beyond. The image appears to be in the shape of an angel, or a creature with wings. The image may be a hint to the Angel myth on the nearby Mount Chiliad. Some people have claimed it is the Mothman or a Pyramid Head. This could also be a tourist attraction as the town nearby is called Angel Pine, so this could be like a symbol or namesake for the town.

Bigfoot
Bigfoot
Bigfoot is one of the most popular myths associated with the game. Although many people claim that they have seen Bigfoot, there is no proof that he exists, and many videos captured of Bigfoot are either glitches, mods, or made-up. Moreover, Rockstar confirmed in an interview that Bigfoot doesn't exist in the game. Refer to the main article for more information on Bigfoot.

The Big Ear
This myth is slightly associated with The Big Ear. It is about an unknown radio station that appears when you are near the Big Ear. If you are in a vehicle, players say that the strange radio station will be picked up by the car's radio. The sounds that come from the station are said to be a static, fuzzy noise. The strange sounds are said to be the transmitions from UFOs picked up from the Big Ear. Also there are rumors about Mutants appearing there during night.

Big Smoke's Ghost
After you killed Big Smoke and finished the last mission End of the Line, the Crack Palace will still be accessible, even when a explosion took place there. If you enter the Crack Palace you'll notice there's no signs of destruction inside. There are rumors that, if you enter the Crack Palace, you'll hear Bigsmoke's voice inside or even see his ghost walking in the corridors.

Body Bags
A mass grave pit located at the foot of a mesa in El Castillo del Diablo, Bone County, north of the Restricted Area and south of the Verdant Meadows aircraft graveyard in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The pit, which takes the form of a large round hole, contains six body bags, and a Bobcat truck and shovel pickup next to the pit.

CJ's Mom's Ghost
Some players have reported seeing the ghost of Beverly Johnson, CJ's deceased mother, inside the Johnson House in Ganton at night. The ghost allegedly walks down the stairs and around the living room, and in some accounts even attacks the player. There is insufficient evidence for this myth to be confirmed.
Desert Ranger
The Ranger is said to appear driving in strange locations, like in Aldea Malvada, Arco Del Oeste, and El Castillo del Diablo, usually in the middle of a field or a desert. This is odd, as pedestrians are not coded to appear in these locations. The SUV can also be seen driving erratically and crashing or grinding against buildings and fences. He can also be found in Verdant Meadows, Toreno's Ranch and in Bayside, San Fierro.

Players have claimed that small black dots can be seen falling from the sky around Mount Chiliad, Area 69, and the Verdant Meadows airstrip, though others have claimed that they can appear anywhere on the map. The dots are reported to appear more frequently in desert areas, like El Castillo Del Diablo.

Falling Lemmings
Due to glitches, some peds can spawn on high places and fall down from them.

Ghost Guard
If you go to The Big Spread Ranch strip club in Bone County and attempt to kill everyone inside, a guard will spawn in a corner after everyone is dead trying to kill you. The reason he tries to kill you is unknown but no matter how many times you try to kill him, he will just keep re-spawning. After killing the guard about 4-5 times, you will begin to gain a wanted level. A strange thing is that although this strip club's interior is also used in other strip clubs in San Andreas, this is the only one where the Ghost Guard spawns.

Grave Robber
Grave Robber is a person who steal bodies from their graves in San Andreas, some persons say that Grave Robber is actually Ed Gein. They can be found in Palomino Creek and Vinewood's cemetery. The Vinewood cemetery has a green glowing light, strangely. It's possible that the Mass Grave with body bags has a connection with the Grave Robber myth.

Many people have taken the "hole" referenced here to be the mass grave near Las Brujas. This would seem incongruous however, as they are on opposite sides of the river, and the hole in question is both up against a wall and too small for an entire cavalry division to fall into.

Killer Cowboy
Due to glitches, some peds can spawn on high places and fall down from them.
This pedestrian normally spawns in rural or countryside areas, but the pedestrian involved with this myth can be found near the two bridges that connect Shady Creeks to Back O' Beyond. The pedestrian is known to attack the player unprovoked and with no warning at all. This myth is very strange, because it would be unusual to find pedestrians in very isolated areas like Back O' Beyond.

Ocean Portal
The Ocean Portal is a myth in GTA San Andreas. The myth is about when a player swims really deep into the ocean using the infinity oxygen cheat, they don't drown, instead, they go through the sea floor and suddenly get teleported to a different area of the map. The myth originated from the Bermuda Triangle myth investigations, and attempts from players to reach Liberty City.

Suicidal Photographers
Suicidal Photographers
The Suicidal Photographer is usually sighted on the inlet near the Los Santos-Countyside border in Flint County, next to a small trailer park. It is a pedestrian that can be seen kneeling down and taking photos of the Los Santos skyline from across the inlet. However, after the pedestrian takes a couple of photos, the ped will stand up and then walk straight over a small cliff and fall into the water, where he will drown. The pedestrian spawns in different ped models, but they all act the same way. This strange phenomenon can be witnessed at any time of the day.

Sharks
Ever since the release of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, players have been debating about the presence of sharks in the game. Many people claim that they were eaten or stabbed to death while swimming. Those who do not believe in this myth usually blame the oxygen level which some people tend to forget to watch sometimes. Also, players will frequently mistake dolphins for sharks.
The Woods Creature
The Woods Creature is an ambiguous term that refers to a myriad of creatues inhabiting the San Andreas countryside, most notably, the Shady Creeks Creature, or Back o' Beyond Creature. The term was also coined by the "big 3" of the woods; Bigfoot, Piggsy, or the Bear. Beyond that, it is anything unknown that lives in the deep woods.
