I'd say bring him to life because under that murdering, stealing, drug running, empire commanding exterior lies a softer side; as shown when him and Louise Williams did things together while her husband was off doing shitty stuff. He looked after people but wasn't afraid to step in and bring some justice. Have the beginning be set right when he gets shot; the paramedics revive him and someone breaks him out of jail.
