Gripe I read that you can do missions outside of liberty city, where????
RebutYou can't. Liberty City is surrounded by water. You can take a chopper and fly out into the ocean, but you can fly forever, and will find nothing. Sorry man. The place you read it from is false.

Gripe Whenever a mission has you chasing another vehicle, they run on a rail. Shooting out their tires does nothing, they still take square 90 degree angle turns at 100 MPH+. You can't catch up to them to ram or PIT them as they'll automatically go into over drive and match your speed. There's no incentive to engage in a good high speed chase since you'll suffer at turns and they won't. And motorcycle chases aren't fun since the AI target can't get into an accident or spin out after their tires are shot out, it actually REPAIRS ITSELF while they speed down the road.

RebutStrange, I never experienced that problem. The AI vehicles behaved just as mine did.

:::RebutIf GTA was realistic you would go to jail after your first kill and stay there.

Gripe(Responding to above)The fact that cars still explode unrealistically is proof that GTAIV isn't a realistic game.

GripeNo car surfing! In previous GTA games you could stowaway on top of a moving vehicle and ride it to it's destination. Now, if you stand or squat on top of a vehicle and it moves, you tumble off like a quadriplegic. Not very realistic.

GripeActually, NYC beaches are popular places to go quad racing at night.

GripeMost vehicles are very rare like the Infernus which you get only one chance to own, and never see again.

::GripeThere's several variations of the NRG900: NRG900, NRG900F, NRG900RR, but that's it. The PCJ600 is old and not as fast, and doesn't look like a sportbike.

::::GripeHe's talking about sport bikes. The Faggio, Sanchez (counts as the dirt bike), Zombie and PCJ 600 does not count as sport bikes. Too slow and it has very little use to race. The PCJ 600's speed becomes unstable at high speeds. The FCR-900 and the BF-400 are two sports bikes in GTA SA and Rockstar Games removed it without even explaining why.

:RebutAt least there are some! Compare GTA IV to its predecessors, except San Andreas, in terms of customizing your pro/antagonist. Also, GTA isn't exactly a 'silly' game.

::GripeActually GTA was always a silly and unrealistic series, and that was what made it fun. Flying airplanes despite having no training, wielding miniguns, surviving car crashes...that was the best part of GTA, and GTA IV just removes all that. Its a bold step, but I guarantee GTA IV would be a lot more fun if the police were a lot stupider, unrealistic weapons were brought back and the physics were toned down a lot.

GripeThe Coney Island Theme Park is unusable, and there are no theme parks elsewhere in the city.

GripeThe airplanes at Francis International Airport are stuck in an eternal taxiing loop: they never take off, and no planes ever land, which detracts heavily from the purported realism of the game. They're invincible also, which is annoying and detracts even more from realism. There.

GripeThe city is grossly under populated. Go to Star Junction at 9pm on a Friday Night and it is deserted. 5pm on a Friday, there is some traffic, but for what it is supposed to be it just falls short again. There are more peds behind the flats in Northwood than in Star Junction. The report that Rockstar modeled the traffic on NYC is pure garbage. Living breathing city....not even close.

GripeEspecially since Times Square is supposed to have hundreds of thousands of people traveling through it at any given time. The game can handle more than 5 peds on screen, so why R* did what they did is a mystery.

GripeThe moving lights that appear on the streets at night while up in the air (probably to simulate traffic and save memory) are poorly plotted. They go in the wrong direction on the street, go diagonally and do weird things, making the feeling of a heavily populated city vanish.

GripeSomehow, an LCPD Crown Victoria can keep up with an Infernus that is easily twice as fast. And then they can't keep up with a slow municipal bus.

GripeNo matter how hard players try to get away from the police's radius, cops seem to spawn near the player's vehicle. Hiding is nearly impossible, even on secluded areas.
